The Lost Book Project supplies both digital products and physical books and book collections to customers around the world.

Digital products are delivered electronically and do not require shipping. Physical products are printed, prepared, and shipped through our printing and fulfilment network.

Because many of our physical books are printed on demand, orders may be produced and fulfilled from different locations depending on the product ordered, the customer's delivery address, production availability, and the most appropriate fulfilment route.

Please read the information below before placing your order.

Digital Books and Digital Collections

Our digital products include individual digital books, PDF books, downloadable book collections, digital collections, resource materials, and other downloadable content.

Digital products are delivered electronically. No physical product will be shipped when you purchase a product identified as digital or downloadable.

Following successful payment, access to your digital purchase will normally be provided through a download link or digital delivery page. A download or access link may also be sent to the email address provided when placing your order.

Digital delivery is normally available shortly after payment has been successfully processed.

Please make sure that the email address entered during checkout is correct, as this may be used to provide access to your purchase and important order information.

If you do not receive your digital product, please:

  • check the order confirmation or download page displayed after checkout;
  • check the email address used when placing your order;
  • check your spam, junk, promotions, or filtered email folders; and
  • allow a short period for payment processing and automated delivery.

If you are still unable to access your purchase, please contact us with your order number and the email address used to place the order. We will make reasonable efforts to restore or provide access to the digital products you purchased.

Digital purchases are subject to our Returns + Refund Policy, including the provisions relating to downloadable content and the loss of applicable cancellation rights once digital supply has begun.

Digital Collections

Our Digital Collections contain multiple digital books or publications grouped together as a single product.

Unless a product page specifically states otherwise, purchasing a Digital Collection provides digital access only. You will not receive printed copies, a physical box set, or any other physical product.

The words "collection", "library", "set", or similar descriptions on a digital product refer to the grouping of digital titles and do not indicate that a physical collection will be shipped.

Customers should therefore check the product description and format carefully before completing an order.

Where a Digital Collection contains multiple files, these may be supplied individually, together within a downloadable package, or through a digital access page.

The precise delivery method may vary according to the size and format of the collection.

Individual Physical Books

Our individual paperback and hardcover books are printed on demand.

Where possible, orders may be produced closer to the customer's delivery destination. We currently work with printing and fulfilment facilities in locations including the United Kingdom, United States, and Canada.

The printing location used for your order is determined automatically based on factors such as destination, product specification, availability, and fulfilment capacity. Customers cannot normally select which printing facility produces their order.

This distributed printing model allows us to reduce unnecessary international shipping where possible, although some orders may still need to be shipped internationally.

Physical Box Sets and Book Collections

Our physical box sets and book collections are separate products from our Digital Collections.

Physical collections contain printed books and will be clearly identified as physical products on the relevant product page.

Some of our physical book collections, box sets, and specialist products are produced, assembled, or dispatched separately from our individual books.

These products may be fulfilled from the United Kingdom, including where the customer is located overseas.

Shipping charges for physical box sets and collections are calculated separately and will be clearly displayed during checkout before payment is completed.

Where a free-shipping promotion or order-value threshold applies, this will also be shown at checkout.

Because physical box sets are larger and heavier than individual books, international delivery costs and transit times may be higher.

Shipping Destinations

We currently ship physical products to a wide range of destinations, including:

  • United Kingdom
  • United States
  • Canada
  • European countries
  • Australia
  • selected destinations in the rest of the world

Availability may vary by product and destination.

If we are unable to fulfil a physical order to the delivery address provided, we will contact you and arrange an appropriate resolution.

Digital products are not physically shipped and can generally be purchased from supported countries where our website and payment services are available, subject to any geographical restrictions stated on the applicable product page.

Shipping Costs

There is no physical shipping charge for digital-only products unless expressly stated otherwise as part of a particular service.

Shipping charges for physical products depend on the products ordered and the delivery destination.

Some individual physical books may qualify for free shipping to selected destinations where this is stated on the product page or at checkout.

Physical box sets, collections, and heavier products may carry a separate shipping charge.

The shipping amount shown during checkout is the amount applicable to your order at the time it is placed, subject to any taxes, customs duties, or import charges that may be imposed separately by the destination country.

We reserve the right to change shipping rates for future orders at any time.

Printing and Processing Times

Many physical products sold by The Lost Book Project are printed on demand.

This means your book may not exist as finished inventory at the time you place your order.

After your order is confirmed, it may need to be:

  • printed;
  • bound;
  • quality checked;
  • packed; and
  • transferred to the relevant delivery carrier.

Processing time is therefore separate from shipping or transit time.

Any delivery estimate shown on our website should be understood as an estimate rather than a guaranteed delivery date unless expressly stated otherwise.

During periods of high demand, new product launches, holidays, seasonal peaks, or disruption within printing or carrier networks, production may take longer than usual.

Digital products are not subject to physical printing or shipping times and are normally made available electronically after successful payment.

Delivery Estimates

Estimated physical delivery times vary according to the destination, printing location, shipping service, customs processing, and carrier performance.

Where an estimated delivery window is provided, it begins after production and fulfilment processing unless otherwise stated.

We cannot guarantee physical delivery on a specific date unless we have expressly agreed to do so.

Carrier delays, customs delays, adverse weather, transport disruption, public holidays, strikes, and other circumstances outside our reasonable control may affect delivery times.

Digital delivery is normally substantially faster because no physical shipment is required. However, payment reviews, technical issues, email filtering, or other system-related circumstances can occasionally delay access.

Orders Containing Both Digital and Physical Products

If you purchase digital products and physical books as part of the same order, the two parts of your order will be fulfilled separately.

Your digital products may become available shortly after successful payment.

Your physical products will then enter the applicable printing, fulfilment, and shipping process.

Receiving your digital purchase does not mean that your physical books have been dispatched.

Similarly, receiving a shipping confirmation for your physical order does not affect your access to digital products purchased as part of the same transaction.

Multiple Physical Items and Split Shipments

If you order more than one physical product, your order may arrive in more than one parcel.

This can happen where:

  • products are printed at different facilities;
  • different formats are produced separately;
  • individual books and physical box sets are fulfilled from different locations; or
  • one part of an order becomes available before another.

Receiving only part of your order does not necessarily mean that an item is missing.

Where available, separate tracking information may be issued for each shipment.

Tracking

Tracking applies only to physical shipments.

Where tracking is available for your selected shipping service, tracking information will normally be provided after your order has been printed, packed, and handed to the carrier.

Please be aware that tracking information may not update immediately after dispatch.

Some postal services and destinations provide limited tracking information, particularly after a parcel enters the destination country's local postal network.

Digital purchases do not receive physical tracking numbers.

Address Accuracy

For physical orders, customers are responsible for entering a complete and accurate delivery address when placing an order.

Please carefully check your:

  • name;
  • house or building number;
  • street;
  • city;
  • postcode or ZIP code;
  • country; and
  • apartment, unit, or other relevant delivery information.

If you discover an error after placing your order, contact us as soon as possible.

Because printed products may enter production quickly, we cannot guarantee that an address can be amended once an order has been submitted to our printing or fulfilment partner.

If an order is returned, lost, or undeliverable because an incorrect or incomplete address was provided by the customer, additional printing or shipping charges may apply before we can send the order again.

For digital products, customers are responsible for providing an accurate email address during checkout where email is used as part of the delivery or account-access process.

Customs, Import Duties and Taxes

Customs and import charges apply only where relevant to physical international shipments.

International physical orders may be subject to customs procedures, import VAT, duties, handling charges, brokerage fees, or other taxes imposed by the destination country.

Where taxes or duties are collected by us during checkout, this will be reflected in your order.

Where they are not collected in advance, the customer may be required to pay them directly to the carrier, customs authority, or relevant local authority before delivery.

These charges are determined by the destination country and are generally outside the control of The Lost Book Project.

Customers are responsible for any applicable import duties, taxes, or customs charges unless we expressly state that these charges have been prepaid or included.

We are not responsible for delays caused by customs processing.

Different tax rules may apply to digital products depending on the customer's location. Where applicable, relevant digital sales taxes or VAT will be calculated and collected through checkout.

Refused or Unclaimed Physical Deliveries

If a customer refuses delivery, fails to collect a parcel, does not respond to a carrier's delivery instructions, or otherwise allows an order to be returned to sender, we cannot guarantee that the order will automatically be refunded.

Because many of our books are printed specifically to fulfil individual orders, returned products may not be capable of being returned to normal stock.

Where possible, we may offer redelivery, but additional shipping or production charges may apply.

This does not affect any statutory rights that apply to faulty, damaged, incorrect, or otherwise non-conforming goods.

Lost Parcels

If your tracking information indicates that a physical order has been delivered but you have not received it, please first check the delivery location, safe places, household members, neighbours, reception areas, and any information supplied by the carrier.

If the parcel remains missing, contact us with your order number and we will investigate the shipment.

A parcel will not normally be treated as lost until the applicable carrier's delivery or investigation period has passed.

Where a shipment is confirmed as lost, we will provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with the circumstances and your applicable consumer rights.

Damaged Orders

If a physical order arrives materially damaged, please contact us as soon as possible.

Include your order number and clear photographs of the damaged product, external packaging, and shipping label where possible.

This allows us to investigate the issue with the relevant printer, fulfilment centre, or carrier.

Damaged and defective products are handled in accordance with our Returns + Refund Policy and your applicable statutory consumer rights.

Problems With Digital Delivery

If a digital file will not download, a download link is unavailable, a file appears corrupted, or you cannot otherwise access a digital product you have purchased, please contact us.

Include your order number and the email address used when placing the order.

Where we can verify the purchase, we will make reasonable efforts to provide access to the purchased content or correct any genuine technical delivery issue.

A failure to locate an automated delivery email does not mean that an order has not been fulfilled, particularly where download access was also provided through the website or order confirmation process.

Changes to Orders

Because our physical books may enter printing and production shortly after purchase, we cannot guarantee that an order can be changed after it has been submitted.

This includes changes to:

  • product format;
  • quantity;
  • title;
  • delivery address; or
  • shipping destination.

Digital products may be supplied immediately after payment and therefore generally cannot be changed for another digital title or collection after delivery has begun, subject to your applicable statutory rights and our Returns + Refund Policy.

If you need to request a change, please contact us immediately.

Contact Us

If you have a question about digital delivery, shipping, tracking, physical delivery, customs, or an existing order, please contact The Lost Book Project using the contact information provided on our website.

Please include your order number when contacting us about an existing purchase so that we can locate and investigate the order efficiently.

Nothing in this Shipping Policy limits or excludes any statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
